DIY BUBBLE WATER GUN FOR KIDS
Making a bubble water gun for kids can be a fun and simple DIY project. Here's how you can make one with household items:
Materials:
- Plastic water bottle (preferably with a spray nozzle or squirt feature)
- Bubble solution (store-bought or homemade, see recipe below)
- Sock or washcloth
- Rubber band
- Scissors
- Tray or shallow dish for dipping
Steps:
1. Prepare the Bottle
- Cut the bottle: Cut the bottom off the plastic water bottle using scissors. Keep the top part with the mouthpiece intact. If using a spray bottle, skip this step.
2. Attach the Bubble Blower
- Cover the cut bottom: Stretch a sock or washcloth over the open bottom of the bottle. Make sure the fabric is tight but not too stretched.
- Secure it: Use a rubber band to secure the fabric around the bottle's bottom. This will act as your bubble blower.
3. Create Bubble Solution (optional, if you don’t have store-bought)
- Mix 1 cup of water, 2 tablespoons of dish soap, and 1 tablespoon of glycerin or corn syrup to make a bubble solution. The glycerin helps create stronger bubbles.
4. Use the Bubble Gun
- Dip the sock-covered end into the bubble solution.
- If using a squirt nozzle or spray bottle: Spray a mist of water over the sock end, which will create small bubble streams.
- If using the cut bottle: Blow through the mouthpiece to create long bubble streams.
Tips:
- The tighter the fabric, the smaller the bubbles.
- You can experiment with different fabrics to create various types of bubbles (e.g., mesh for smaller bubbles).
This simple DIY bubble water gun is safe and fun for kids to enjoy outdoors!
